Why We're Better

For many people, even professionals, finding a good fixture company can be a difficult task. May we make a few suggestions? You don't want to buy cheap millwork; you'll regret it in a year or two when your fixtures fall apart. You probably don't want to go with the expensive guy either: they have a huge inefficient bureaucracy and tons of overhead. There's a reason their stuff costs more: They spend your money on things besides millwork.

It sounds simple, but you need to make sure you get the highest quality construction and best raw materials at the lowest possible price. In short: you want value. Buying something of value and buying something cheap are not necessarily the same thing. There is a HUGE difference between a cabinet (or booth, or anything) built from exterior-grade plywood and one built from non-water resistant particle board.

When fixtures built from particle board get wet, the particle board substrate expands. As the core dries out, it shrinks. Over time, the raw material will degrade and very quickly fall apart. Sure, you say that your cabinets aren't being installed in a wet area and that you don't need to worry about the raw material being used. If your millwork is going in a commercial location, it's going to take a beating. Chances are it'll get soaked from spills or cleaning. It's just a matter of time. That's not to say we build everything out of exterior-grade plywood. It's no secret: we don't. We use expensive and long-lasting materials selectively so you get value.

The reason we're better is we engineer value into every project before we build it. We provide hardwood strips at the bottom of our wainscot wall panels. We use hardwood and exterior-grade plywood blocking on our booths. All of our cabinet bases are plywood too. We seal many of the areas you don't even see with laminate, paint, or finish for added protection from moisture and spills.

We only use countertop-grade plastic laminate on the exteriors of our base cabinets. We glue and dado all our joints. In short: we build our products to last. When you buy from a cheaper millwork company, do you really know what you're getting? Customers seek us out because they know they're getting value. Our business is built on repeat clients and referrals; we want you to be one of them.

Try D&D. We're probably not the cheapest, but we're not the most expensive either. If you want a better price: ASK! If we can give you a better deal, we will! We know the best client is a satisfied one, and plus we're pleasant people to work with. Everything we build carries at least a one year warranty and will last a lot longer than the company with the cheapest estimate. Give us a call and we'll start working on your project today!

Sincerely,

D&D Planning, Design, & Millwork LLC
